Celebrate the spookiest of holidays at the office. Here are 5 good ideas to get you started.
Office and Cubicle Decorations
Decide as a group if your office is doing a theme for Halloween. Decorating a cubicle or entire office is an opportunity for everyone to get creative. Use traditional decorations like fake spider webs, a fog machine and scary caution tape. You can also decorate stationery office objects to incorporate all parts of the workplace into the theme. This activity can change a row of panels into a cobweb-covered graveyard. Participants might want to join the fun individually or with those who work in their vicinity as part of a team. Outline specific items that are not allowed ahead of time (potentially open flames, smoke machines, items that have sound, etc.). Designate a set up and take down deadline and determine judging and categories as described in the pumpkin and costume contests.
Pumpkin Spice
Pumpkin spice is all the rage this time of year. You can find a recipe online and host a mini DIY workshop at the office. Maybe schedule a Pumpkin Spice Latte DIY Workshop. Employees will each have a kit to work with, complete with all the ingredients they need.
Plan a Halloween-Themed Lunch
No party is complete without food and drinks – especially at Halloween! Consider hosting an office lunch that boasts some of the best Halloween-inspired finger foods. Include dishes, and grazing boards. Chocolate eyeballs and gummy worms are great. So are ghost cupcakes, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and mummy hot dogs. There are endless options to set up an unforgettable Halloween buffet (or even host an office based trick-or-treat game). https://www.mommyhatescooking.com/spooky-snacks-halloween-party-wheat-thins-4
Costume Contest
Some employees may be nervous or find it silly to dress up. Especially if they’re used to fellow employees either not dressing up or slacking off on their costume. Try making a big deal about having a costume contest. Offer a reward to the winner that is grand enough to encourage participation.
Scavenger Hunt
Scavenger hunts make great Halloween activities for hybrid teams. These exercises can require participants to perform tasks and hunt for items both at home and in the office or party space. The game gets participants moving and energizes the teammates joining from behind a screen.
