Refresh Your Google Ads This June

Published on June 1, 2026

June is a sweet spot to give your Google Ads a fresh look. It’s a great chance to tune into how consumer habits shift with summer and adjust your campaigns to match. Here’s how.

Midyear Refresh

This way, you can ride the wave of seasonal trends and make the most important updates in tracking and campaign structure. Nonprofits often face tight budgets for advertising, so it’s key to use smart strategies that stretch every dollar. One wonderful way to do this is by pinpointing the times of day when your audience is most likely to convert. The ideal time to run Google Ads is whenever your supporters are most active and engaged.

Google Ads Is Changing, Too

Google’s shaking things up by streamlining controls between Google Ads and Google Analytics. Before June 15, linking Analytics to Ads meant your data flowed into Google Ads and followed its rules. You also had settings in Google Analytics via Google Signals managing cookie and ID collection alongside Google Ads’ Consent Mode. Now, Consent Mode takes the lead, managing all Google Ads data, including what comes from Analytics—while Google Analytics focuses only on its own behavioral reports. Google says this makes managing consent simpler and more consistent across platforms, ensuring users’ privacy choices via Consent Mode are respected.

Tap Into Mid-Year Shopping

People are hunting for summer essentials, vacation deals, and back-to-school stuff. Tweaking your ads to spotlight these seasonal must-haves can seriously boost your conversions.

Catch Audience Intent Changes

Summer search habits aren’t the same as springs. Updating your keyword list helps you capture what people are looking for now. No more blowing budget on irrelevant terms.

Fight Ad Fatigue

When folks see the same ads again, they tune out. Refresh your visuals, evaluate new creative, and rewrite headlines to keep things exciting and give your Quality Score a boost.

Get a Head Start on Q4

The holiday season gets crazy competitive. Starting early by testing new bids, audiences, and landing pages in June gives you a leg up with enough time to fine-tune before costs soar.

Reassess Your Budget

Halfway through the year is prime time to check your Performance Planner, see which campaigns crushed it, and shift your spending toward the winners.
