Holiday Campaigns That Sleigh: Social Media Ideas for December

Published on December 1, 2025

The Christmas holiday presents a lot of advantages for your brand on social media. Here’s a few tactics to stay ahead.

Holiday Deals Are Always Effective

Let’s be truthful. Many consumers buy at least some of their gifts at the last minute. Be the answer to their last-minute purchasing dilemma by planning. Provide a last-minute option for the individuals on their list. It’s something that can be provided online. Or arrange for expedited shipping (and bill appropriately). You may have your store open for pick-up orders at a random last-minute time. Use your imagination. Consider how your items might be a solution to the real need for last-minute gifts.

Do a Giveaway

For this giveaway, your audience will be “writing a Christmas story” in the comments of your social media post. You will publish a post that announces that you are doing a contest, and to enter they need to comment below with a phrase that continues the Christmas narrative. At some point, you will comment below with the ENDING line of the story. The winning comment is the one right before that! (This encourages users to return and continue posting.)

Photo Contests!

Photo contests and challenges are extremely popular, particularly on Instagram. Encourage your followers to participate by completing a specific task or leaving a holiday-themed comment, such as finishing song lyrics, answering a question, solving a riddle, or providing a caption for a photo. Winners can be selected randomly or based on the quality of their comments. Alternatively, host a photo contest that invites followers to highlight their pets, Christmas trees, decorations, ugly Christmas sweaters, snow days, baked goods, and more. They can also share photos of themselves using or wearing your product.

Making Posts Festive

Part of the reason those Christmas décor discussions start earlier each year is that people adore getting into the spirit of the season. Every year, a lot of individuals modify some aspect of their lives to meet the “theme,” from ugly holiday jumpers to themed meals. Your brand’s social media content is no exception. Create static posts and videos with themes, color schemes, and holiday motifs. Provide your audience a consistent experience with every piece of content you upload.
