Leveraging Year-End Campaigns to Connect with Customers

Published on December 9, 2024

The end of the year is no time to rest for your business. Here’s some strategies for keeping your brand in customers’ minds.

What’s a Year-End Campaign?

As the year comes to an end, a Year in Review campaign is a means of providing audiences with a summary of the year. To honor the brand and the audience, these ads usually make advantage of behavioral data points, accomplishments, and events that have occurred over the year. They use entertaining and memorable media, like infographics, emails, films, reports, or a mix of all of those, to convey long-term value to clients.

Choose and Know Your Customers

Getting the correct message to the right people at the right moment is a common statement regarding marketing. However, that third component—the people—is what determines the timing and the messaging. Understanding your people is the first step in creating a message that will reach them at the appropriate time and place. Segmentation, or dividing your audience into smaller groups so that your content is highly relevant to them, is a key component of marketing to the appropriate people. Volunteers and regular donations have different perspectives on your organization. Additionally, your board or employees should receive a separate email than significant donors—yes, internal communications are a type of marketing.

Stay Optimized

Your website can have the biggest impact on a donor’s decision to donate because it provides their initial, accurate image of your organization. You can gather email addresses, get people to sign up for regular updates and communications, and—most importantly—get donations if your website is well-designed and structured.

Visuals Remain Important

Since everyone processes information differently, adding images, movies, or other visual components can have a greater impact on people who are more visually stimulated. A lot of us also skim the internet. The clever method to prioritize and make your message clear is to condense a year’s worth of facts and your story into a graphic that is simple to read and distribute.

Push Those Emails (Especially Holiday-themed Ones)

After Christmas, you can send out a final email push to donors as part of your year-end communications. Think about sending the first of your last emails to all your donors, minus the ones who have already contributed.
